A beautiful day on skis

God has blessed us, living in northern Michigan, with lots of fresh snow. We’ve also been blessed with some wonderful finds this season on cross country ski gear in thrift stores. I’ve just been learning to ski in the last few days and the boys and I enjoyed a great time this morning on the ski trails near our house. All my practice until now had been in the back yard. The weather was a crisp 19 degrees and sunny — just right.

Snowball fight

We’ve got a lot of snow now and the kids really enjoy a good snowball fight now and then. Just a little fun in the north country with the Pierpont family. Merry Christmas!

cookie cutting Christmas sugar cookies. Do you remember the fun you had as a child making sugar cookies with your family at Christmas? Do you remember the enjoyment of cutting out the shapes, little snowman, the star and Christmas tree shapes with the cookie cutters in the gooey white dough? I know it’s fun because I’ve watched my children and the joy with which they cut the shapes and spread the frosting and add the sprinkles and other decorations after the cookies come out of the oven. Great fun — great memories.
