In his book “Freakonomics” Steven Levitt suggests that the leading cause of kids loving to read is parents owning a lot of books. I’m not sure I agree. But it’s interesting from the perspective of an economist.
Readily available books has helped our kids read more — they log onto the library website, order their books and in a few days they walk a couple of blocks down the street to get them from the local library branch. That and limiting TV and computer games.
