Snowball fight

We’ve got a lot of snow now and the kids really enjoy a good snowball fight now and then. Just a little fun in the north country with the Pierpont family. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from our family to yours.

We had a worship filled service this Christmas morning with our church family. It was great being together.

The Incarnation of Christ – John 1:14-18

Yesterday we celebrated Christmas. This morning with Christmas still fresh in our minds, I’d like to reflect on the wonder of the incarnation of Christ. Incarnation is the doctrine that the Son of God became human flesh. He was fully God and fully human. It’s amazing to stop and think about it. It goes beyond our comprehension and understanding that God would become man. Listen to a few thoughts from some prominent Christians on the incarnation…

In December 1903, after many attempts, the Wright brothers were successful in getting their “flying machine” off the ground. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

It is most obvious at Christmastime that the world rejects who Jesus is. It’s clear to see when people do all they can to remove Christ from Christmas. And when the world does recognize Christ it is often with a cute Nativity scene. Or not so cute. This week some of you saw in the news that even the Nativity scene is used to make little of the name of Jesus.

Light Shines in Darkness – John 1:1-5

Kevin A. Pierpont

12/5/04

Let’s go right to God’s Word this morning. John 1:1-5

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
