Last week we stayed with friends while attending a Bible Conference. Their house was unfamiliar. I turned off the light before leaving the bathroom, stepped into darkness and turned left. I was expecting there to be a light on at the end of the hallway, like it was a few minutes earlier. But there was only darkness. Figuring the lights had been turned off I took a step into what was supposed to be the hallway and bumped face first into a closed closet door. Realizing my mistake (I’m quick like that), I took a step to the right and saw the faint light I needed to find the bedroom. Lesson learned.
Life can be like that too. But I’m grateful I have Jesus to guide me. I’ve tried life without His help and that doesn’t go well. Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life" (John 8:12). I hope this finds you walking in the light "as He is in the light" (1 John 1:7).
